About the project:
The Lower Stony Run Stream Restoration project spans approximately 5,000 linear feet through a confined valley in Wyman Park. The project includes baseflow consolidation structures, the stabilization of a 30 foot high slumping fill slope with bioengineered geo-lifts and the creation of stormwater wetlands supported by retrofitting existing infrastructure into a bubbler. The design was projected to generate 71 acres of impervious credit for Baltimore City to apply toward meeting their MS4 permit. The site tour will include discussion and reflections on the promise and challenges of restoration through process initiating approaches to attenuate flow velocity, encourage sediment deposition and promote diverse in-stream habitats.
